Hi all,

I'm looking to change the init string of my modem, specifically as I
want to shut it up (ATM0). The standard init string for the modem I
think is ATZ, I would like to change that to something like ATZM0
(correct? Long time since I actually worked with those codes). I can't
find any way to do that...

Wouter.

ATZ is normally the modem reset command which loads registry setting 0.
Modems are allowed to ignore the rest of the command line after the 'Z'.
For mgetty you could define the following init-chat in your mgetty.conf
file:

init-chat "" +++\d\d\dATZ OK ATM0 OK
