Vgetty & USR 5605 modem problem

Hi all,

I bought a brand new USR External Voice modem (model 5605) to work with
vgetty and I just can't get it to work. Here is an extract of the
vgetty.log file:

My modem does not seem to recognize at#VSS. I updated it to version
4.9.2 (latest firmware available on USR site).

Most manufacturers are adhering to the ITU v253 standard for voice
modems or their own, (usually flawed) version of the v253 standard

Why not set "forceV253 TRUE" in your voice.conf file and see if you get
any further.
